This Mercurious Local Travellers Guide will help you to discover the best brews in Brisbane.
Most of the breweries and bars listed below are within Brisbane City, but some are further afield (but they are all well worth the extra trip!).
Here are some of our favourite breweries across our wonderful city...
26 Helen St, Tenerife
Mon-Sun : 12pm-12am
Winners of Champion Small Brewery at the 2017 Australian International Beer Awards, Green Beacon has firmly positioned itself as a Brisbane local's favourite. The brewery's craft creations are stocked in most good bottle shops across the city, but the best way to experience Green Beacon's brews is at their hip brewery in the swish Brissy suburb of Tenerife. Try from their core range of 8 beers, and a fantastic seasonal and special release range, accompanied by some delicious culinary creations from their kitchen.
Tastiest tipple: Windjammer IPA - Juicy citrus and pine with firm hop bitterness
35 Railway Tce, Milton
Mon-Sun : 11- Late
Outside of West End, in terms of Brisbane breweries to buildings ratios, there is no place like Milton. Located just down the road from the iconic Castlemaine Brewery, Aether is still a relatively new player in the Brisbane brewing scene, but their big range is full of great flavours and creative varieties.
Tastiest tipple: Red Giant Red Ale - bold, red and well balanced. Malt driven hints of apricot and raisins. 38 IBU.
189 Elliott Rd, Banyo
Mon - Sun : 12pm - Late
All Inn's range is diverse and exciting. There there is a taste for every palate from their core range, and the seasonal options just spoil you for choice! A little way out of the city, located in an industrial estate, All Inn Brewing is defintely worth the extra trip. If you find a brew you absolutely love, you can get it canned on the spot and take it home for later!
Tastiest tipple: Clockwork Robust Porter - a soulful porter with coffee and chocolate flavours combined with subtle earthy and woody characters for added complexity.
124 Boundary Street, West End
Mon - Thurs : 4pm – Late
Fri - Sun : 11am – Late
Located down a sneaky alleyway off Boundary Rd, Brisbane Brewing Co. offers a fantastic large outdoor micro-brewery setting in a great location, just 15 mins walk from Mercure Brisbane. Try from their range of 10 brews, while nibbling on some top treats.
Tastiest tipple: Brisbane Pale Ale - packs plenty of punchy passionfruit, tropical and citrus flavours, with a gentle malty body to balance.
67 Castlemaine St, Milton & 85 Doggett St, Newstead
Mon - Fri : 10am - 12am
Newstead Brewing Co. are a prime example of the dramatic growth Brisbane's brewing scene has experienced. After rising to popularity through their namesake location in the trendy Brisbane suburb of Newstead, the iconic brewers have answered the public's demands and opened up a second location in the fiercly competitive brewing suburb of Milton, right next to Suncorp Stadium. The Newstead range is so popular because of its ability to cater for absolutely every taste, and has attracted recognition through various national awards.
