Our centrepiece function room is the Grand Chelsea Ballroom, which accommodates 560 guests for dinner, 650 in a theatre-style arrangement and 340 in a classroom arrangement.

The additional function level houses the Burke, Wills and Leichhardt Rooms, which hold a maximum of 200 for dinner, 250 theatre-style and 100 in a classroom setup. Two additional conference rooms, Mitchell and Oxley, are located on the ground level of the hotel and are ideal for smaller board meetings or secretariats.

The Grand Chelsea Ballroom and Burke, Wills and Leichhardt Rooms have removable/adjustable walls, allowing flexibility to suit varying client requirements.

Grand Chelsea Ballroom

The Grand Chelsea Ballroom at Mercure Brisbane is widely acknowledged as one of Brisbane’s ultimate venues for product launches, conventions, gala dinners and exhibitions. Your guests approach the suite via its own street entrance through Chelsea Lane that leads into a reception foyer with space for 200. 

The main suite is adjacent. Within this vast classically proportioned room you can accommodate up to 650 delegates for a meeting or 560 for a banquet. It is a highly flexible room that can easily be changed from a banquet to a conference, or divide into four separate conference spaces. It also has vehicle access – should this be required.

As with all Mercure Hotels, meetings at Mercure Brisbane are carbon neutral. We have teamed with the Carbon Reduction Institute to streamline the carbon offsetting process and will fully fund offsets for carbon emissions produced during your corporate function.

Guests also have the opportunity to offset the carbon emissions produced from their flights to and from the meeting through the Carbon Reduction Institute. Please click here to use this service.

Mercure Meetings will calculate the carbon offsets for your conference by using a custom designed carbon calculator developed specifically for the Mercure Brand, and further tailored to each hotel, by the Carbon Reduction Institute.
